I became a part of the Student Government as a Director of International Student Affairs. I was glad I was selected for this position as my main goal for this position was to help out International Students in the difficulties they faced. One main problem we all faced, was not being aware of all the resources neither having any proper guidance on campus. So, as my initiative I started going to different offices on campus every week, to learn about the resources available. I then compiled all the information I had on the resources available and made a guide on it. I was able to make it a part of the IPALS newsletter. After that, I kept in touch with UC International Services and then spoke on webinars to help future bearcats! I also assisted the UC international admissions department on multiple WhatsApp groups by helping students in whatever questions they had as well as connecting UC admissions department to schools in Dubai, UAE. I was glad that I was able to help students because in my first year I was extremely clueless. Multiple International students came to me asking for on-campus jobs, and I was able to help 6 of them. I hope to continue helping students irrespective of this position.
